I’m an enthusiastic road cyclist based in the ZĂĽrich area, slowly ticking off Switzerland’s twenty highest paved Alpine passes. Ten down, ten to go.
There’s something special about earning a view the hard way — the combination of physical challenge, stunning scenery, and the satisfaction of reaching the top. On weekdays I often train on Zwift (Level 88 cycling, Level 7 running) when Swiss weather isn’t cooperating.
🏠Home Automation
Like many engineers, I’ve gone down the home automation rabbit hole. My setup runs on:
- Home Assistant — the brain of the operation
- Zigbee2MQTT — keeping everything vendor-agnostic
- ESPHome — custom sensors and controllers
- Various ESP32/Arduino projects — because why buy when you can build?

Outside of work, I enjoy tinkering with:
- Python automation and data projects
- Smart home integrations
- Fitness tracking and analytics (Garmin Connect, Intervals.icu)
- The occasional embedded systems project
